Sketch your Cake at Shangri-La

It’s almost Sketch your Cake time once again.

In fact this is the last one for 2013!

Oh so soon.

Anna from Bathers Pavilion had let me know she’s now the pastry chef at Shangri-La hotel.

Atsuko and I decided to make an exploratory trip to the city, to check  it out.

We were very impressed with the Lobby Lounge and its very inviting low tables and sofa chairs, which can be moved about a bit. Yes you can get up and down easily!

We loved the grandness of the high ceilings and the warm colour scheme.

The staff were very helpful and more than happy to accommodate cake sketching people!

We wanted to see the tea cups and teapots. No Old Country Roses, but more contemporary style teapots. Still good for sketching.

They have little orchids in a glass as table flowers.

Atsuko asked about the Homemade lemonade displayed on the counter, and the lovely girl offered her a glass to try.

Yum she said. it’s the best I’ve tried.

They have it made especially for them. No cordial stuff here.

So we have reserved the more out of the way end of the Lobby Lounge, for the Traditional High Tea. You can still add a glass of champagne if you like.

You’ll get a 3 tiered stand of cakes, scones, macarons and savouries

12 places only.
