MANLY COURSES.
A magical day on the edge of Pittwater today at Church Point. Just in time to see the ferry decorated for the Christmas run. Coffee and lunch under the trees whilst we sketched people, the General Store and the view across to Scotland Island. Something for everyone. A great end to our 10 Week term and another fab EHS year. Thank you for being such an enthusiastic, supportive and creative class. Merry Christmas, happy sketching and we hope to see you again next year. Toni.

What a lovely way to finish the year, lunch, wine, great company, oh and we even found time to sketch, at Long Reef Golf Club. Nothing stops this group. Gorgeous sketches that reflect your own style and interest. Keep up the creativity over the holidays and thank you for being such inspiring and supportive company. See you in the new year. Toni.
Thursday Eve
Today the temperature was already at 35 degrees and more – until 6.30pm when our evening class on the beach at East Esplanade was to start.
Thunder boomed. lightening cracked and big raindrops began to fall.
We just had time to do our 5 min warmup sketch, looking across the boat sheds and yachts at sunset.
Serious rain started so we dashed to Interpolitan Cafe and took shelter. Next sketch, something with rain colours. Great results everyone. Thanks for a great term and great company. Have a great end of year. See you all again soon. Erin.
Friday General
We are very happy sketching wherever we find ourselves. As we arrived at Little Manly Cove Cafe, a very big group of littlies were loudly singing ‘Happy Birthday’.
But even though it was a grey old morning, the water called the water babies and silence reigned! On with our sketching.
Three five minute seascapes, choosing washes of a grey day, sunny day, and crazy colour day.
Not to be matching what we usually see was the exercise. More to do with a feeling.
Any colours you enjoy was our brief.
So delighted with everyone just letting go and not caring. Thanks everyone. You’ve been delightful company and we hope we’ll see you again in the New Year. Erin.
Friday New
Great sketching today at Bella Vista for our final week. We talked about composition and planning the page before capturing the atmosphere here today. Exploring your interpretation of the view, not just what you see but how it makes you feel. We then swapped sketch books and prepared coloured washes for each other and then swapped again to add a sketch. Great fun.
Congratulations on completing your 10 week introduction to Travel Sketching. Look how far you’ve come! Merry Christmas. Toni.
Saturday General
Our last class for the term was at Little Manly Cove on a brilliant sunny Saturday. What a gorgeous spot to be in. Starting with a great coffee we began our 3 five minute sketches. It did seem odd to be doing grey day washes on a day like this, but that’s us being creative. Then a sunny day one and lastly crazy coloured one. Everyone did a great job and really let go with the paint and layering colours over the last. Such fun work indeed.
We finished with a group shot to send Therese.
Thanks everybody and do enjoy your Christmas and NY. Catch up soon. Erin.
THE ROCKS CITY
Friday New
We all met at the Pullman Quay West Hotel, sketched a quick sketch of the flower arrangement in the front lobby. We walked to Government House in the Botanical Gardens and then spent some time walking around the gardens, and began sketching the house. and gardens.
Returning to the hotel, our plan was to sketch from above of the bridge but our booking with the view was unfortunately cancelled for an event!! (How could they!!)
We stayed on and ordered snacks and drinks and applied colour to 2 of our sketches. It was a thoroughly enjoyable morning, with a lot of good energy.
We all enjoyed each others company and are hoping to spend more time revisiting, the Governors House as well as capturing the views of the harbour, next term.
Wishing you all safe and happy holidays. Looking forward to seeing you next year. Tammy.
That’s all for this week. Watch out for next week’s pre Christmas report. Cheers

Hi Diane. I’m very keen to start EHS courses in Brisbane. I need to train a tutor in my system for that and so far the right person hasn’t come forward. We will as soon as that happens. Hang in there.
