Week 5. Saturday March 3 ’18
Another glorious sketching week once again. By week 5 our Intro Sketchers are beginning to see what they can achieve. Such progress in such a short time and it’s very exciting for we tutors too. We’re loving the perspectives we’re seeing from you. First architectural sketch plus using watercolour and look at what a story you’re telling.
Nature in many techniques was they way we went for our Travel Sketchers.
I’ve had the pleasure of joining several classes this week with the Anzac Sketchers, here from New Zealand with their tutor Tony McNeight. and seeing how wonderfully each of our tutors can make sketching an ancient fig tree become an amazing art piece. Sponges, gladwrap, sticks and twigs and even stones, anything we can use to make patterns and marks all helped give big personalities to your work. Thank you to each tutor for including our visitors in the fun.
For our Saturday class today, we sketched the VW Kombi Van rally, as part of the surf carnival at Manly Beach. The owners are such total characters still living in the 60’s and make great sketches.
