Week 9 Term 3. Sept 17 ’16 Wow this term has gone quickly. New Sketchers and General were all tackling ‘people’ this week. We’ve made big people shapes on rolls of paper, we’ve thrown paint and crayon over them, we’ve made montages of moving people.  We’ve sketched people in the Bavarian restaurant, on the Corso, at Manly Wharf, at the Manly Art Gallery. General Intensive: ‘Street Scenes & People’ Manly pulled out all the stops and produced an absolute corker of a day for us to sketch happy crowds flowing out of the ferry terminal. Family groups walking along the esplanade, canoodling couples lying on the lawn, even a TV filming actors who were rather hopeless at kayaking-  we sketched them all! New Sketchers. Always an exciting and eagerly anticipated week- Watercolours!   Finally new sketchers discovered for themselves the joy contained in that small travel set of jewel bright colours. In the studio, they wet down the paints, then experimented with water to paint ratio, painting colour swatches and labelling each one.
