We choose locations slightly off the beaten track, even in cities you know well. You’ll have a personalised and authentic experience not only in Sketching and art, but accommodation in authentic and charming hotels or chateaux. About our tours
Tour Tutors: Erin Hill, Kathy Wesson, Kate Stedman, Tony McNeight, Anna Barnes.
At Erin Hill Sketch School all our tutors are qualified in the EHS system. You’ll be learning our very simple ‘How to see’ way of observing the world, and sketching within the hour.
Being very positive is the way we move forward, and your lines on paper will give you such pleasure and memories no photo could ever capture.
ErinHill Sketching is an international school that offers foundation to advance classes in Australia, New Zealand, and the South of France.
The school uses simple approaches, like imposing time limits, to help students get to the essence of a sketch — rather than overdoing and overthinking it. “The simpler the better,” they state “There’s no right or wrong. It’s about you and the image you capture.”
EHS Travel Sketch Holidays are for those who like to travel and immerse themselves in sketching with a fully escorted group. We choose places slightly away from the main tourist areas, to give you an authentic experience not only in Sketching and art, but also discovering the local foods and wines and history of a region. We make sure you have plenty of opportunities to explore, shop, visit galleries and history sites in your own time.
Fully Escorted. When you join an ErinHill Sketching Holiday you are accompanied by a Tour organiser who looks after the daily plans and details. Your Tutor takes care of your sketching journey on the tour, your highs and lows and successes.
You may also be keen to share your sketches later on our closed Facebook site, and feel connected to other EHS sketchers around the world.
The Tour organiser takes care of EHS bookings, accommodation, transport, enquiries and payments and all questions you may have about any aspect of an EHS Holiday.
Who comes on an EHS Sketch Holiday? We have solo travellers, friends, couples with a non sketcher, friends from sketch classes and people who simply find us on online.
Many book one or two tours a year, knowing they’ll be well looked after and go to somewhere they’ve never been to. People do love the simplicity of what we offer.
Fitness. A reasonable level of fitness is important. We are quite active at times.
We can walk across a town, up steps and stairs in hilltop villages, and sometimes stand for a while to get the best view on location. You need to able to do that.
No previous sketching experience needed though many of our students return again and again.
Briefly, what’s included. Our EHS Sketch Holiday costs include accommodation, transport to locations, tour guiding, Travel Sketch tutoring and most meals. And a wonderful time with new friends.
